HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices

THIS NOTICE DESCRIBES HOW MEDICAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOU MAY BE USED AND DISCLOSED AND HOW YOU CAN GET ACCESS TO THIS INFORMATION. PLEASE REVIEW IT CAREFULLY.

Our Commitment to Your Privacy

MedRx Telehealth is committed to protecting your protected health information (PHI). We are required by law to maintain the privacy of your PHI and to provide you with this notice of our legal duties and privacy practices.

How We May Use and Disclose Your PHI

We may use and disclose your PHI for:

  • Treatment: To provide, coordinate, or manage your healthcare, including through the MyHealthAlly clinical platform
  • Payment: To bill and collect payment for services via Stripe payment processing
  • Healthcare Operations: To improve quality and ensure proper operation of our services
  • As Required by Law: To comply with federal and state regulations

MyHealthAlly Platform

MedRx uses the MyHealthAlly app as its clinical care delivery platform. MyHealthAlly processes your PHI in accordance with a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) that requires the same level of protection as required by HIPAA. Data transmitted through the app, including messages, photos, and visit records, is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request restrictions on certain uses of your PHI
  • Receive confidential communications
  • Inspect and copy your PHI
  • Request amendments to your PHI
  • Receive an accounting of disclosures
  • Obtain a paper copy of this notice
  • Be notified in the event of a breach of your unsecured PHI

Breach Notification

In the event of a breach of your unsecured protected health information, MedRx will notify you as required by the HIPAA Breach Notification Rule. Notification will be provided without unreasonable delay and no later than 60 days following the discovery of the breach. Notification will include a description of the breach, the types of information involved, steps you should take, and what MedRx is doing to mitigate harm.

Complaints

If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may file a complaint with us or with the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. You will not be penalized for filing a complaint.

All MedRx programs include the MyHealthAlly app at no extra cost. Use it for video visits, secure messaging, photo check-ins, and treatment tracking.
