Physician-Guided GLP-1 Therapy

Medical Weight Management

Weight is a metabolic issue, not a willpower issue. We address the underlying dysfunction—insulin resistance, inflammation, hormonal imbalance—using evidence-based tools including GLP-1 medications when appropriate.

Not a Vending Machine. A Medical Practice.

Most telehealth GLP-1 services treat medication as a commodity—checkbox, ship, repeat. We practice differently. Your weight is a signal from your body, and we take the time to understand what it's telling us before reaching for the prescription pad.

What We Don't Do

  • Prescribe to everyone who asks
  • Skip baseline labs
  • Auto-approve without physician review
  • Disappear after shipping
  • Treat medication as the only solution

What We Do

  • Comprehensive metabolic assessment
  • Review labs before prescribing
  • Physician evaluation of every case
  • Quarterly monitoring and dose optimization
  • Address nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle

Our Approach

GLP-1 medications are powerful tools, but they work best when part of a comprehensive, physician-guided program.

Medical Evaluation

Thorough health history, contraindication screening, and baseline labs. We rule out conditions that could make GLP-1s unsafe or ineffective.

Medication (If Appropriate)

Compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide, prescribed only after physician review. Dosing personalized to your response, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Ongoing Monitoring

Quarterly video visits, lab monitoring, dose adjustments. We track metabolic markers—not just the number on the scale.

How GLP-1 Medications Work

GLP-1 receptor agonists like semaglutide and tirzepatide mimic a natural hormone that regulates blood sugar and appetite. They work on multiple pathways:

  • Appetite regulation: Signals to the brain that you're satisfied, reducing cravings and portion sizes naturally
  • Insulin sensitivity: Improves how your body handles glucose, addressing the metabolic dysfunction underlying weight gain
  • Gastric slowing: Food moves through your system more slowly, keeping you full longer

Clinical trials show average weight loss of 15-20% of body weight when combined with lifestyle modifications. But the real goal is metabolic health—improved A1c, better lipids, reduced inflammation.

Medications We Prescribe

We use compounded formulations of FDA-approved molecules. Your physician will recommend the best option based on your health profile.

Common Questions

How is this different from what I see at med spas or those $99/month services?

We practice medicine, not retail. Every patient gets a physician review, baseline labs, and ongoing monitoring. We don't approve everyone, and we don't disappear after shipping. Our program fee covers real medical care—the consultations, dose optimization, and ongoing support.

What does the consultation fee include?

Your $499 consultation includes a comprehensive functional medicine evaluation, detailed lab interpretation, medication management, and a personalized treatment plan—not a 5-minute checkbox visit. Medications are billed separately by the compounding pharmacy, and labs (if needed) are billed through Rupa Health.

Do I need labs?

Usually, yes. We typically want to see a recent metabolic panel, A1c, and thyroid function at minimum. This helps us prescribe safely and gives us a baseline to track your progress. If you don't have recent labs, we can order them through Rupa Health—they'll bill you directly for the lab work.

What if I don't qualify?

That's okay—and it doesn't mean you're out of options. If GLP-1s aren't right for you, we'll explain why and discuss alternatives. Sometimes the answer is addressing a different issue first (thyroid, sleep, stress) before considering weight loss medication.

Is this the same as Ozempic or Wegovy?

We prescribe compounded semaglutide, which contains the same active molecule as Ozempic and Wegovy. Compounded medications are made by licensed pharmacies and offer a more accessible option during the ongoing brand-name shortage.
